Qualifications

  • Current Manchester Met Student studying History, Politics and Philosophy.
  • Interest in entering the teaching profession required.
  • Experience with race, racism, and antiracism units preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist students with campus navigation and activities.
  • Deliver informal talks and answer students' questions.
  • Support staff during workshops and campus tours.

Responsibilities
  • Meet and greet the colleges when they arrive on campus.
  • Take students to the designated lecture hall / rooms where sessions will take place.
  • Talk to the sixth form students and assist them throughout the day.
  • In the afternoon session, assist in a hands- on workshop.
  • Assist staff in taking students on a tour of the campus.
  • Give a short, informal talk about your experiences as a HPP student in a group with the other student ambassadors and answer questions from the college students.
  • Give out HEAT tracker and evaluation forms and collect at end of session.

  • This role is only open to current Manchester Met Students who are studying History, Politics and Philosophy.
  • This role would be well suited to students who have studied units related to race, racism and antiracism in the UK and USA.
  • Students who have an interest in entering the teaching profession and who would like to gain experience working with young people.
  • Confident in delivering short presentations in an engaging way.
  • Able to assist in giving a tour of the MMU campus and a short informal group presentation on what it is like to study History, Politics and Philosophy at university level.
  • Reliable, personable and organised.
  • Works well independently and also as part of a small team.
