Job summary

National Highways seeks an Operational Technology Configuration Manager to ensure reliability and safety of the Strategic Road Network by managing OT configurations, changes and incident support in a complex, safety-critical environment.

Hybrid role with two days in the office, based at a National Highways location in the UK, with travel to attend team meetings. You will develop in-house expertise, improve processes and drive compliance with cyber security standards.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience configuring, maintaining and supporting complex technical systems in an operational environment, with an understanding of system, component, interface and data relationships.
• Proven experience in configuration and change management, completing technical changes through formal processes and applying controls to minimise operational risk.
• Strong technical aptitude with a methodical, analytical approach to problem solving, fault investigation and assessing the impact of configuration changes.
• Experience of incident management and supporting operational resources during incidents, crises or major events.
• Experience in an operational control room or safety-critical environment is desirable.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working collaboratively with technical specialists, operational teams, suppliers and partners, and communicating effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Relevant technical qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience, with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of National Highways operations and associated technology is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain configuration information for critical Operational Technology systems, ensuring accuracy, integrity, availability and lifecycle control.
• Complete configuration requests and RFCs through approved tools and governance processes.
• Support planning, testing, validation and deployment of new or upgraded OT systems.
• Provide specialist operational and technical support during incidents, faults and system issues.
• Maintain accurate asset, geographical and account records in line with cyber security standards.
