About the role

The operational Support directorate at the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust are a dedicated and vital support network which assists our front-line clinicians in providing excellent care to people living in the East of England, 365 days a year, 7 days a week.

This role will involve shift working including early and late shifts; you will be expected to work weekends and Bank Holidays.

Locations: Waveney – Part-time.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the safe collection and delivery of Trust vehicles from Trust locations to workshops and other designated vehicle repairers.
  • Ensure all vehicles are driven safely, economically and are easily identified as belonging to the Trust.
  • Carry out extended road tests of vehicles during both collection and delivery to ensure the vehicles are ready for use by the Trust.
  • Check the vehicle for legal tyres, functioning lights, sufficient coolant and fuel before driving.
  • After repairs have been undertaken, conduct extended road tests and report any defects to the Trust Workshop Supervisor or Workshop Manager prior to handover.
  • Report any faults that arise during a collection and delivery journey to the Workshop Supervisor or Workshop Manager before handing over the vehicle.
  • Safely keep any fuel card or mobile phone issued during the period of work, return them before the end of duty and report any loss or theft to the Workshop Supervisor or Workshop Manager as soon as practicable.
  • Maintain contact with Fleet Administrators, Workshop Supervisors, and Fleet Workshop Managers to keep them informed of availability for work.
