Job Purpose

Operations Resilience Manager provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure Betfreds critical business services remain available, compliant and responsive under all conditions. The role strengthens governance, testing and recovery capability across technology and operations, embedding resilience into every stage of service delivery.

Working collaboratively with Product Platform and Engineering teams this role will ensure resilience principles are built into design change and support processes to protect service continuity and customer experience.

Job Duties
Framework & Governance

Develop, implement and maintain Betfreds operational resilience framework aligned with UK regulatory and industry best practice.

Identify and document critical Business Services and associated dependencies across systems, suppliers and teams.

Define, monitor and report against impact tolerances ensuring they reflect business risk appetite and customer impact.

Establish and manage clear governance for resilience activities including reporting structures, escalation routes and oversight committees.

Act as the key point of contact for resilience‑related regulatory reviews, audits and external assurance activities.

Testing, Incident & Crisis Management

Lead and coordinate scenario testing and crisis simulation exercises to validate preparedness and recovery capability.

Own and coordinate the Major Incident and Crisis Management process ensuring effective response, communication and recovery. Conduct post‑incident reviews and lessons learned.

Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery plans are current, tested and fully aligned to business priorities.

Risk Integration and Third-Party Assurance

Partner with Group Risk, Internal Audit and Compliance to ensure operational resilience risks are identified, monitored and mitigated.

Oversee resilience assurance for key suppliers and managed service providers ensuring contractual safeguards, exit plans and continuity provisions are tested and effective.

Support third‑party due diligence and service readiness assessments to ensure outsourced partners meet resilience standards.

Resilience Tooling and Continuous Improvement

Drive automation and integration of resilience processes with ITSM, monitoring and observability platforms to improve insight and responsiveness.

Champion a culture of continuous learning and improvement through feedback, testing outcomes and performance analytics.

Culture and Engagement

Promote a culture of resilience across all departments raising awareness through training, communication and leadership engagement.

Collaborate closely with Product Platform and Engineering teams to embed resilience into solution design and change delivery.

Build trusted relationships across business units and with external partners to enhance collaboration and readiness.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential

Proven experience in operational resilience, business continuity or risk management within a complex or regulated organisation (financial services, gaming or technology preferred).

Strong understanding of operational resilience frameworks including critical service mapping, dependency identification and impact tolerance setting.

Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional programmes and influence senior stakeholders.

Knowledge of incident management, crisis response, disaster recovery and third‑party risk management.

Experience applying resilience principles within agile product‑led or DevOps environments.

Familiarity with ITSM and observability tooling used to monitor service performance and enable proactive response.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical and regulatory concepts into business outcomes.

Analytical and structured thinker with a focus on continuous improvement.

Desirable

Exposure to gambling, financial services or similarly regulated sectors.

Experience working with modern infrastructure (SaaS or cloud‑based) operational models.

Qualifications

Professional accreditation such as MBCI ISO 22301 Lead Implementer or ITIL v4 Managing Professional.

MoR Accreditation (Management of Risk).
