Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Lead departments and implement objectives and performance management.
  • Oversee logistics operations including parcel freight and exporting.
  • Ensure timely completion of customer orders and adherence to quality standards.
  • Collaborate with managers to meet service levels and company goals.
  • Set and exceed KPI targets for Warehouse departments.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines across all sites.
  • Manage daily operations across multiple locations.
  • Ensure compliance during H&S meetings and actions.
  • Work with Maintenance Manager to meet site standards.
  • Conduct general housekeeping and oversee operational equipment.
  • Review processes continuously for improvements.
  • Manage FLT fleets and future equipment requirements.
  • Ensure road worthiness of HGVs and drivers.
  • Monthly reporting to Director of Operations & Logistics.

Operations Manager

Skills, Experience, and Education Required
  • Experience as an Operations Manager
  • Experienced man management skills.
  • H&S Experience – IOSH minimum qualification.
  • Experience working within ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001
  • Clear understanding of delivering performance to our major customers
  • Ability to benchmark, identify pinch-points and improve processes.
  • Strong ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with your team.
  • Effective leadership and delegation skills.
  • IT literate and ability to quickly adapt to new systems.
  • Watchful eye with good attention to detail to ensure high levels of quality.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to motivate others and link departments.
Responsibilities
  • Leadership and team management – along with direct line manager duties you will take ownership of supporting and leading departments across the sites, overseeing and implementing department objectives, performance management, team development, recruitment, training etc.
  • Oversee all aspects of logistics including UK Parcel freight, haulage and exporting; liaising with key external and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure customer orders are completed on time, to budget and that KPI's and quality standards and targets are met.
  • Work with other department managers to implement the company's policies, meet agreed service levels and company goals.
  • Set KPI's for all Warehouse departments and ensure they are being met and exceeded.
  • Ensure that health and safety guidelines are always adhered to across all sites.
  • Oversee all day-to-day operations across all three sites.
  • Manage and attend H&S meetings with Training and Maintenance Manager; review/carry out actions raised while ensuring compliance is always met.
  • Working closely with the Maintenance Manager, ensure that all sites are meeting required standards.
  • General housekeeping duties along with overseeing all operational equipment.
  • Continually review processes to ensure improvements are made when/where required.
  • Managing FLT fleets across all sites and experience to specify future equipment requirements.
  • Managing HGV's, trailers and drivers ensuring their road worthiness in line with DVLA policies.
  • Monthly reporting to Director of Operation & Logistics
