Operations Manager

Salary: Up to £55,000

Location: Office-Based, Glasgow.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Manager to lead a busy freight operations department. You will manage and develop a dedicated Operations team, build strong customer relationships, and collaborate with senior leadership to drive continuous improvement across the wider operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and high performance.
• Oversee all aspects of import and export freight operations (FCL and LCL).
• Resolve operational challenges proactively, identifying practical and cost-effective solutions.
• Take a hands‑on approach to problem‑solving, supporting the team with complex shipments or client queries.

What You'll Bring

• Minimum 5 years' freight forwarding experience, including supervisory or management responsibilities.
• A strong Seafreight operations background (working for a freight forwarder).
• Strong knowledge of LCL, FCL shipments.
• Strong understanding of international shipping, customs procedures, and INCOTERMS in the UK.

Desirable

• Experience working for a Freight Forwarder in the UK in a Supervisor capacity.
• Minimum of 5 years working for a Freight Forwarder.
• Solid knowledge of Sea freight Operations working for a Freight Forwarder.
