Job description

Are you passionate about delivering high-quality news to children? Redwood is excited to be the exclusive recruiting partner of an organisation who equip young people with the knowledge and confidence to engage with current affairs and have their voices heard. Our client is seeking an Operations Executive to join their friendly team to be at the heart of their operations and customer service, ensuring that their award-winning print and digital products are produced, distributed and supported efficiently. This role can be worked on a hybrid basis, with three days a week in their London office and two days from home.

This is a highly interesting and varied role where no two days are the same and would suit someone from a publishing or subscription-based customer service background, or someone who has worked in production, but is looking for a more varied role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing the weekly print order and distribution process, liaising with external suppliers, and collaborating with print and distribution partners.
  • Providing first-contact support for production and distribution queries.
  • Monitoring print runs, back issues and e-commerce orders to ensure prompt outcomes.
  • Working with external Subscription Bureaus to manage queries, investigate and resolve any complaints, delivery issues and digital subscription queries.
  • Monitoring customer service processes, updating templates and providing advice if required.
  • Attending regular quality control and bureau meetings, highlighting any recurring issues.
Qualifications:

This role requires a proactive and highly organised individual with around 2 years’ relevant experience in a similar publishing role, or a subscription customer service background. We also welcome applications from a relevant customer service background (school customer service is a plus). You will be process-driven and detail oriented, with the ability to work to deadlines. You will have great communication skills with the ability to multi-task if necessary. You are a team player, collaborative and flexible, willing to support the team and step in when necessary.

This is a great opportunity to gain diverse experience in both print and digital publishing, with the opportunity to broaden your skill set, work in a dynamic environment and contribute to a mission that impacts young readers. If you’re a switched-on individual looking to make a difference in children’s news and education, we want to hear from you.
