Job Description

As an Operational Support Grade (OSG) you will play a key part in supporting the day‑to‑day running of a busy prison. Your tasks will include security and searches at the gate, managing deliveries, supervising visitors, monitoring phone calls and CCTV, escorting vehicles across the grounds, and performing various desk duties. The role combines physical tasks such as lifting, carrying and walking with the need to keep the prison running smoothly and safely.

  • Escort vehicles across the prison grounds.

Qualifications
  • No prior experience required – strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential.
  • Full, valid UK driving licence, including the D1 vehicle category to drive vehicles up to 16 passenger seats (maximum length 8 m) and trailers up to 750 kg.
  • Physical fitness and capacity to lift and carry heavy items.
  • Good judgement, common sense, and strong teamwork.
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and nights.
