Job description

Overseeing the operational Nursing delivery of care.

Providing senior Nursing leadership and role modelling to all Nurses in an operational leadership role.

Working collaboratively with corporate Nursing and Governance teams to ensure there are timely responses to Quality and Safety incidents.

As Lead Operational Nurse for Adults, this role provides clinical leadership to nursing staff in adult services, including the Prison sector, ensures patient care standards are upheld, and supports nurses' professional development across Divisions. Responsibilities include representing nursing perspectives, maintaining high-quality care, monitoring outcomes, and initiating improvements as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee and contribute to nursing practice and operational clinical leadership. Offer strategic leadership support to Divisional Clinical Managers and Operational Leads. Collaborate with other Senior Nurses within the Trust to maintain accountability on key performance indicators.
  2. Support the implementation and monitoring of the Trust's strategic clinical and quality agenda.
  3. Lead and direct the development of new services and patient care pathways, ensuring they match the needs of patients and drive the progress of locality led models of care.
  4. Deputise as required for the Divisional Clinical Manager.
