Job description

Assan Panel is the leader of the sandwich panel market in Turkey and the largest sandwich panel producer in the Middle East, exporting to more than 85 countries with the production facilities in Turkey, Jordan, Azerbaijan, United Kingdom and sales offices in Hungary. Assan Panel is moving forward to become a global player in the sector. Since 2010, it has achieved a record capacity utilization rate of 85%, which is uncommon in Turkey and the rest of the world, with sales capacity of 24,000,000 m2 of output.

Assan Panel also has polyurethane systems business unit under AssanChem as well as AFG Steel company providing EPCM solutions in building envelope, roof top solar plants, cold rooms and construction of industrial buildings.

We are looking for OHS and Environment Specialist in our facility, Ipswich.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain occupational health & safety policies, procedures, and standards across the site.
  • Ensure all HSE activities in the facility align with Kibar Holding’s Occupational Health & Safety Strategic Principles Guide .
  • Lead and coordinate process safety initiatives, including hazard identification, risk analysis (HAZOP / What‑If), and implementation of controls.
  • Conduct risk assessments and job safety analyses (JSAs) for all machinery, processes, and tasks.
  • Perform regular safety inspections, compliance audits, and monitor implementation of corrective / preventive actions.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, conduct root cause analysis, and ensure learning and improvement actions are implemented.
  • Deliver training programs, toolbox talks, and safety awareness sessions for staff and contractors.
  • Ensure full compliance with applicable UK health, safety, and environmental legislation and internal policies.
  • Monitor safety KPIs and metrics (LTIs, near-misses, unsafe conditions) and report findings to site and corporate HSE leadership.
  • Oversee emergency preparedness and response activities (fire drills, spill control, evacuation plans, etc.).
  • Manage contractor safety processes and ensure subcontractors operate in compliance with site standards.
  • Coordinate with production, maintenance, and quality departments to integrate safety into operational planning and execution.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, Environmental Health, or a related discipline.
  • Recognized HSE certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of HSE experience in manufacturing or industrial operations.
  • Hands‑on experience with process safety assessments and controls is required.
  • Strong understanding of UK HSE regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in applying corporate safety frameworks or guidelines in practice (ideally similar to Kibar Holding’s strategic principles).
  • Excellent communication, training, and team coordination skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and incident management or EHS software tools.
