Job description
Overview

Vacancy at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Band 5 nuclear medicine radiographer/technologist to support a busy clinical and research active imaging department. The team is multidisciplinary and includes professors, doctors, clinical scientists, nurses and administrative staff. We uphold the trust’s strategy of providing high quality patient care and aim to improve patient services through safety, clinical outcomes, equity and patient experience.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a safe, patient focussed imaging service across SPECT/CT, PET/CT, PET/MRI and Bone Density.
  • Work within the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for each clinical and research scan.
  • Perform QC testing on a variety of imaging cameras.
  • Adhere to IR(ME)R 2017 and IRR 2017 radiation protection regulations.
  • Have a flexible approach to shift work patterns.
  • Engage with staff feedback and support service improvement through audit and shared learning practices.
  • Maintain a robust CPD portfolio reflecting up to date nuclear medicine imaging techniques.
  • Safely administer a range of radiopharmaceuticals via intravenous cannula using the trust’s approved Aseptic Non-Touch Technique (ASNTT).
  • Teach and supervise students and other new trainees.
  • Effectively communicate and escalate any issues pertaining to radiation safety, patient care and faulty equipment.
