Job summary

A healthcare organization in Aberdeen is seeking a Medical Education Coordinator to manage undergraduate teaching, coordinate schedules, and provide administrative support. Medical Education Coordinator

Location: Polwarth Building, Foresterhill site, ARI

Hours per week: 30 hours (5 days, flexible start between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m.)

Salary: Band 4 £30,353 - £33,016 (pro rata)

Role Overview

The NHS Grampian Medical Education Team comprises a Postgraduate and an Undergraduate Director of Medical Education, 7 Associate Directors of Medical Education (ADME), and Trainee Leads. There is also an Undergraduate Medical Education Quality Manager and Postgraduate Medical Education Quality Manager, as well as administrative staff. The team works under the leadership of the medical directorate whilst the administrative function is part of the workforce directorate.

Responsibilities
  • Organise and manage undergraduate teaching within the long‑term conditions and integrated care block of teaching.
  • Coordinate daily undergraduate teaching schedules and maintain a teaching resource database.
  • Collaborate with undergraduate and postgraduate education staff to align teaching programmes.
  • Provide administrative support to undergraduate medical education leads.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Innovative, proactive and able to work autonomously within own limitations.
  • Excellent communication skills and good team player.
  • Attention to detail and a good level of IT skills required.
  • Knowledge of NHS Grampian systems and University of Aberdeen MBChB programme beneficial.
