Job summary

A tutoring organization based in Walsall is seeking a Non-Verbal Tutor to provide one-to-one SEN tutoring for post-16 learners. The role focuses on delivering high-quality and trauma-informed support for non-verbal or minimally verbal students with SEND. Responsibilities include enabling access to learning, developing communication skills, and supporting student independence to make progress against educational outcomes. Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of autism-aware teaching and experience in special educational needs.

Non-Verbal Tutor – One-to-One SEN Tutoring (Post-16)

Location: British Creative Institute (BCI), Walsall

Reports to: SEND Lead / Curriculum Manager / Head of Faculty

Role Purpose: To deliver high-quality, trauma-informed and autism-aware one-to-one tutoring for post-16 learners with SEND who are non-verbal or minimally verbal, enabling them to access learning, develop functional communication, build independence, and make progress towards EHCP outcomes and Preparing for Adulthood priorities.
