Job summary

Sainsbury’s is seeking a vigilant Nightshift Manager to lead overnight replenishment and all store operations. You’ll be hands-on, prioritising deliveries, organising the warehouse, and ensuring shelves are stocked for the morning rush.

You’ll manage a team, uphold safety, and maintain high service standards throughout the night. This role requires proven experience in night shifts within high-volume stores, with strong leadership, KPI focus, and disciplinary handling.

Qualifications

• Track record of delivering brilliant customer service and coaching colleagues to do the same.
• Experience leading a team in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment—motivating others and keeping operations running smoothly.
• Operational leadership skills with responsibility for store operations in the absence of more senior managers.
• Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding KPIs across sales, availability, customer satisfaction, or colleague engagement.
• Experience managing employee relations issues, including performance and absence management.
• Desirable: experience working night shifts in a high-volume, operational environment with a safe, supportive atmosphere for the team during out-of-hours trading.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team overnight to deliver all replenishment activities, prioritise deliveries, organise the warehouse and replenish shelves.
• Often run a full store operation overnight, responsible for the full shift and for the safety and wellbeing of colleagues.
• Ensure standards are excellent by morning so the store is ready to serve customers.
• Manage performance and capability, conduct disciplinaries and ensure scheduling and pay are accurate.
