A leading veterinary care provider is seeking a Night Veterinary Surgeon for their Thurmaston 24-Hour Hospital. This part-time position requires working three weekend nights per month, allowing for extensive free time in between shifts. Ideal for those seeking a true work-life balance, this role involves providing exceptional care to patients in a sole-charge capacity and mentoring team members. Join us to make a positive difference in veterinary care with competitive benefits.
What could you do with your life if every 3 days you worked earned you 25 days completely to yourself?
If you’re someone who values freedom, flexibility, and the ability to truly live outside of work, this role could be your perfect fit.
Join us at Medivet Thurmaston 24-Hour Hospital, proudly opened in April 2024. Our state-of-the‑art hospital is equipped with top‑tier technology: orthopaedic kit, a brand‑new ultrasound machine, digital and dental X‑ray suites, endoscopy, a tonometer, and everything you’d expect from a modern, forward‑thinking ECC setting.
We’re looking for a Night Veterinary Surgeon to cover Saturday, Sunday, and Monday nights 7pm‑9am (including a 1‑hour paid break) every 25 days. That’s just three weekend nights, followed by over three weeks completely free—an incredible rota ideal for someone seeking true work‑life balance, part‑time hours, or even a career that supports a love of travel. Fancy exploring Europe between shifts? Prefer extended downtime to focus on hobbies, family, or personal projects? This rota is built for exactly that.
This is a sole‑charge ECC role, perfect for vets who enjoy variety and the challenge of handling a wide range of emergency procedures. A solid all‑rounder background in both surgical and medical work is essential, and in return you’ll gain valuable exposure, autonomy, and the chance to make a real difference during out‑of‑hours care.
