Qualifications

Overview

Marine Society and Sea Cadets (MSSC) is a leading maritime charity in lifelong learning and personal development and is the governing charity of the Sea Cadet Corps (SCC), a civilian voluntary youth organisation engaging some 15,000 young people over 400 Sea Cadet Units, throughout the UK. The SCC offers a wide range of youth opportunities with the same enduring objective - to give young people the best possible head start in life through nautical adventure and fun.

We are currently seeking dynamic and motivated Night Supervisors to provide overnight supervision to cadets aged 12-18 attending residential training courses at multiple facilities, working in conjunction with other supervisors.

Responsibilities
  • Provide overnight supervision to cadets aged 12-18 during residential training courses at multiple facilities, in coordination with other supervisors.
Qualifications
Essential
  • Experience of working with young people
  • Knowledge of positively addressing challenging behaviour
  • Ability to discharge Duty of Care to young people
  • Holds a current First Aid Certificate
  • Basic knowledge of relevant health and safety, including assessing risk and COSHH
  • Either a full current UK photo driving licence or UK passport
Desirable
  • Experience of uniformed organisations or knowledge of Sea Cadet regulations
  • Holds D1 Endorsement and experience driving a minibus
  • Holds current First Aid at Work Certificate or better
  • Holds full, current UK driving licence
