Mechanical Inspector Nights - 6 month FTC

Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Night Shift Mechanical Inspector to join our Quality Assurance team on a 6‑month fixed term contract. Working independently during night operations, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of machined components and assemblies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Working on nights assuring the quality of internally and externally manufactured metallic components to the required standards.
  • Carry out inspection and verification activities using advanced metrology equipment and software.
  • Collaborate closely with Quality Assurance, Production Control, and the Machine Shop to maintain and improve quality standards.
  • Proactively participate in team and departmental meetings.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of machining processes, inspection techniques, and quality systems.
  • Work professionally, responsibly, and flexibly to meet production and quality targets.
  • Undertake any additional tasks reasonably requested in line with the role.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Excellent working knowledge of machining processes and manufacturing methods.
  • Proficient in Pc-DMIS and PolyWorks Metrology Suites.
  • Hands‑on experience with CMMs, Absolute Arms, Shadowgraphs, Contour Tracers, and handheld measuring tools.
  • Ability to confidently interpret and work from technical drawings.
  • Experience using MRP/ERP systems such as IFS, SAP, or similar.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Previous experience in a Formula One or high‑level motorsport environment is highly desirable.
  • Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining accuracy and composure.
  • Flexible approach to working hours to meet the demands of the role.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across departments.
