Job summary

A facilities management company in West London is looking for a Permanent Night Shift Technician with a mechanical bias to ensure the smooth operation of building services. This role involves conducting planned maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and working a 6:30pm to 6:30am shift pattern. The ideal candidate should hold a City and Guilds Level 2 qualification and have experience in building services. Competitive salary of £42,000 to £44,000 plus generous overtime is offered.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure smooth operation of all building services during night shifts.

Job Title: Permanent Night Shift Engineer

Location: West London

Salary: £42,000 - 44,000 per annum + Generous Overtime

Hours: Permanent Nights, 6:30pm - 6:30am (4-on, 4-off shift pattern)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Permanent Night Shift Engineer to join the facilities management team at a large, prestigious commercial site in West London.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer who thrives working nights and wants the stability of a permanent role. We are open to candidates from a mechanical background, as long as you have a strong multi-skilled mindset and experience in building services.

Key Responsibilities
  • As an engineer on-site during the night, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all building services.
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) across the site, taking advantage of the quiet night-time hours.
  • Responding promptly to any reactive breakdowns and critical alarms.
  • Undertaking maintenance on a wide range of M&E plant, including:
    • AHUs & FCUs
    • Pumps & Motors
    • Heating and ventilation systems
    • Building Management Systems (BMS) monitoring
    • Lighting (including emergency light testing)
    • Basic plumbing and fabric repairs
  • Ensuring all work is logged correctly and completed in line with strict health and safety standards.
  • Conducting thorough site walk-rounds to identify any potential issues.
  • Providing a comprehensive handover to the day shift team.

    Any Mechanical qualification - City and Guilds Level 2 minimum
