Overview

NHS Interim Planning Accountant – Band 8c
South East | 3-month contract (possible extension) | Start date: 27 October | On-site 3 days/week - South East

Are you a strategic thinker with a strong NHS finance background? We’re on the lookout for a seasoned Planning Accountant to support a high-performing finance team with the development and delivery of long-term financial models and Trust-wide planning.

Responsibilities

• Shape the 5-year financial plan and align it with clinical and operational strategies.
• Lead on sensitivity analysis, activity/financial triangulation, and scenario planning.
• Provide robust data, modelling, and benchmarking to influence senior decision-makers.
• Engage cross-functionally with Financial Management, Strategy, IM&T, HR and clinical teams.

Qualifications

• NHS finance experience at a senior level is essential.
• Full CCAB or equivalent qualification.

Engagement

This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 3 days on-site across two key locations, depending on the workshop and meeting schedule.
