Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and support enterprise network environments across LAN, WAN, wireless, and security components.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues within a diverse and complex network landscape.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation for existing and new configurations/builds.
  • Gather detailed requirements from internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors such as cabling providers and ISPs.
  • Model, analyse, and plan network capacity and performance.
  • Install, upgrade, and configure network hardware and software.
  • Isolate and resolve common network problems quickly and effectively.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • 7+ years experience in network engineering (flexible for candidates with strong matching skills).
  • Experience delivering 4–5+ network projects in live customer environments, ideally involving refresh/upgrade programmes.
  • Ability to create High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs) and produce architectural diagrams.
  • Hands-on experience with firewalls and security technologies (e.g., Pulse Secure SSL VPN, Cisco ASA, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, VMware NSX).
  • Strong understanding of authentication technologies such as SAML, SSO, LDAP, Active Directory.
  • Deep knowledge of IPSEC, GRE, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, proxy systems, and SSL.
  • Broad understanding of cybersecurity technologies and protocols.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Visio.
  • Strong LAN/WAN networking expertise.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills in Cisco environments:
  • Nexus Switches (1000v–9000 series)
  • Cisco Enterprise Routers (3900, 3800)
  • Cisco LAN switching (3700, 3500, 2900 series)
  • Experience with Cisco ASA firewalls, F5 BIG-IP Load Balancers, and wireless technologies (WLCs, autonomous & lightweight APs).
  • Familiarity with packet capture and analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark, Ethereal, SolarWinds or equivalents).

  • On-site across Gaydon, Solihull, and Coventry.
