Job summary

A public sector consultancy is seeking an Interim Commissioning Lead to support services within the Neighbourhoods Programme in London. The role involves designing and commissioning community initiatives, collaborating with various partners to improve health outcomes, and managing contracts effectively. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in commissioning with local government and the NHS, as well as strong analytical and facilitation skills. The position is hybrid and expected to last 3-6 months.

Interim Commissioning Lead – Neighbourhoods and Communities

Based in London | Inside IR35 I hybrid

Length : 3-6 months

The Interim Commissioning Lead will be primarily focussed on supporting commissioning within Council’s Neighbourhoods Programme - services, agencies and communities working together to ensure residents get the information advice and help they need, when and where they need it within their local area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the design, commissioning and mobilisation of a wide range of new neighbourhood focused initiatives including; Community-led Healthy Weight Support; Neighbourhood Networks development; an independence support pathway for people with LD & Autism; Information Advice & Advocacy services; Physical Inactivity Place Partnership development; Community Connect Programme; Community Health & Wellbeing Pop-ups
  • Support the development & building of new Community-Led Commissioning & Procurement structures that will bring together lead VCFS organisations, community representatives and commissioning & procurement officers
  • Ensure specific provisions are contract managed robustly, working closely with operational colleagues & procurement colleagues on tenders
  • Analyse data and review and collate information to inform decisions
  • Work closely in partnership with children, young people, families, communities, health & third sector partners, Education, Procurement, and markets to shape excellent, high quality & safe services
Essentials
  • Extensive experience of joint and multi-agency commissioning across local government, the NHS and non-statutory partners that support prevention & achieve improved health and wellbeing outcomes for residents
  • Direct experience of using participatory planning processes and working in partnership with NHS, VCFS organisations and local communities to develop significant commissioning projects.
  • Strong skills in review, analysis, facilitation, and design / development, delivered in complex, dynamic environments, including taking an evidence-led approach to shaping the work
