Overview

NDT Technician - West Lothian

We are currently recruiting for an experienced NDT Technician to join a busy fabrication and welding environment in West Lothian.

As an NDT Technician, you will play a key role in supporting fabrication, machining, and welding operations across manufacturing and remanufacturing projects. This position requires competence in manual ultrasonic testing (MUT), magnetic particle inspection (MPI), and liquid penetrant inspection (LPI) of welds and components.

Responsibilities
  • Carrying out MUT, MPI, and LPI inspections in line with project quality plans and specifications
  • Preparing scan plans and NDT records
  • Accurately reporting defect size, location, and producing supporting sketches
  • Verifying NDT equipment prior to use
  • Liaising with clients and third-party inspectors
  • Supporting goods-in and final inspection operations when required
Qualifications
  • PCN Level 2 is mandatory
  • Additional qualifications in MUT of forgings, VT of welds (PCN/CSWIP), or hardness inspection are advantageous
  • Proven background within a fast-paced engineering/fabrication environment
  • Working knowledge of HSE and QA procedures, as well as industry codes such as ASME, API, and BS EN ISO standards
