Qualifications

Overview

The Hyde Group is an established aerospace engineering provider with over 40 years in the industry. We are seeking a NC Programmer at our Dukinfield manufacturing site to support a sudden increase in workload.

Role responsibilities focus on developing, optimizing, and validating CNC programs for complex aerospace components, ensuring precision, efficiency, and compliance with AS9100 and customer standards.

Responsibilities
  • Create and optimize 5-axis CNC programs using Hypermill and CATIA.
  • Interpret complex aerospace drawings and 3D models to develop machining strategies.
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and compliance with customer specifications.
  • Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting strategies to maximize efficiency and tool life.
  • Conduct simulations and verifications to ensure collision-free toolpaths and optimal cycle times.
  • Support first article inspections (FAI) and resolve any programming-related issues on the shop floor.
  • Continuously improve machining processes to reduce cycle times and improve quality.
  • Maintain documentation and revision control of NC programs and related process sheets.
Required Qualifications
  • Proven experience as an NC Programmer in the aerospace or precision engineering sector.
  • Proficiency in Hypermill and CATIA for CAM and CAD tasks.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, aerospace materials, and machining best practices.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Vericut or other CAM verification tools.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Background in working with OEMs or Tier 1 aerospace suppliers.
