Job Title: Multifamily Maintenance Technician
Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the physical integrity, appearance, and efficient operation of multifamily residential communities. This role involves performing routine and preventative maintenance, completing service requests, and assisting with capital improvement projects to maintain a safe and comfortable living environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance, repairs, and inspections of apartments, common areas, and building systems.
- Respond promptly to service requests and resolve maintenance issues effectively.
- Complete work orders related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, appliances, and general repairs.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on mechanical systems, equipment, and community facilities.
- Assist with apartment turnovers, including cleaning, painting, and preparing units for new units.
- Maintain the grounds, including trash pickup, snow removal, and seasonal landscaping support as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures, building codes, and company policies.
- Participate in on-call rotation for emergency maintenance requests.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work and materials used.
- Work collaboratively with the property management and leasing team to support satisfaction.
Qualifications
- 13 years of maintenance experience, preferably in multifamily housing.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repair.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- EPA Section 608 Certification for HVAC (or ability to obtain).
Work Schedule
- Full-time, typically Monday–Friday, with rotating on-call responsibilities for after-hours emergencies.
