Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias)

Location

Knowsley – Liverpool

Salary

£44,000 + OT at 1.5× + 33% night‑shift allowance

Shifts

3‑shift rotation (6‑2 / 2‑10 / 10‑6)

Holidays

25 days + 8 bank holidays

Call‑Out

1 in 5 weekends (paid £51 per call‑out)

The Role

We are seeking a multi‑skilled maintenance engineer with a strong mechanical bias (60/40 or 70/30) to join a busy manufacturing environment. You will be expected to hit the ground running, supporting production by maintaining, fault‑finding and repairing a wide range of machinery and systems. You will report directly to the Engineering Manager and join an established maintenance team with a stable structure. This is a hands‑on role with no progression pathways, ideal for someone who enjoys staying technical and operational.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and repair of heater systems
  • Work on machine safety systems
  • Fault‑finding on single and 3‑phase motors
  • Maintenance of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Reactive and planned maintenance across plastic injection moulding manufacturing machinery
  • Supporting production teams to minimise downtime
  • Occasional weekend call‑out (1 in 5)
Experience & Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in manufacturing
  • Injection moulding experience highly advantageous
  • Ideally NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification or equivalent
  • Strong mechanical background with multi‑skilled capability
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
Package
  • Salary: £44,000
  • Overtime: Paid at 1.5×
  • Shift Allowance: 33% for night shifts
  • Call‑Out Pay: £51 per call‑out
