Job description

Are you an electrical maintenance engineer looking for a new challenge? Due to the introduction of a new line, we are expanding the current maintenance team. Ideally, we are looking for a multi‑skilled engineer with an electrical bias, but we are open to speaking to electrically biased engineers too.

With a very settled team this role is available to a recent promotion to engineering team leader.

Over the last couple of years the site has recently installed a new CMMS system and stores, with new lines and an overhaul project recently completed.

While this is a fast‑paced food manufacturing environment, we will consider engineers from all backgrounds, including engineers exiting the forces.

Responsibilities of a multi‑skilled electrical maintenance engineer
  • Both reactive and planned maintenance on high‑speed packing machinery.
  • Undertake machine start‑up routine and non‑routine planned shutdown as required.
  • Undertake full diagnosis and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime.
  • Communicate machine status and performance across shift.
  • Work in partnership with the production team and ensure optimum output.
Qualifications required to become an electrical maintenance engineer
  • Time served or apprentice‑trained engineer.
  • NVQ, BTEC, City and Guilds Level 3 either mechanically or electrically.
  • Experience within a food or fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Team player with a passion for learning.
