Job description

Job Title: MRI Radiographer

Hours: Monday-Sunday, 3 x 12-hour shifts (typically 7am‑9pm).

Location: Slough. Start Date: March 2026.

InHealth sees more than 5 million patients each year and diagnostic imaging is one of the busiest services that we provide. We will be opening a brand new Community Diagnostic Centre in Slough in early 2026 and are looking for a skilled MRI Radiographer to join the team.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out magnetic resonance imaging procedures to best practice standards of radiographic techniques (MHRA Guidance 2015, IR(ME)R 2017, Code of Clinical Practice).
  • Provide a great experience for patients attending MRI scanning, supporting them through the process from referral to results.
  • Run quality assurance checks on equipment and act as appropriate.
  • Respect patients' and service users' customs, values and spiritual beliefs, making sure their views are sought and taken into account.
  • Perform triage functions of referrals, as required.
  • Support patient bookings, ensuring patient information systems maintain accurate and up‑to‑date information.
  • Complete competency assessments.
  • Adhere to all operational procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Share knowledge and clinical experience with the wider team to support each other’s growth and development.
Qualifications
  • BSc Radiography or equivalent.
  • Membership of an appropriate professional body and holds a valid registration (HCPC).
  • Good understanding of fundamental MRI physics and different scanning techniques and sequences.
  • Proven knowledge of the requirements of a radiographer’s role regarding patient care, career and colleague interactions.
  • High level of professionalism and technical standard of work.
  • Aptitude towards improving quality.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Understanding of the implications of the Data Protection Act, Caldicott Principles and GDPR.
  • Flexible approach to work and able to work across 7 days (Mon‑Sun).
  • Strong team player attitude, supportive, caring, reliable and trustworthy.
  • Ability to remain calm when working under pressure and in a busy environment.
  • Positive attitude, taking pride in work and passion for the service provided.
  • Passion for developing career in radiography and working towards new milestones.
Experience
  • Experience working with MRI equipment in either a hospital or mobile setting.
  • Basic and routine MRI examinations, with ambition to learn more complex scans.
  • Experience in infection control training, manual handling, basic life support.
  • Scanning with contrast, or enthusiastic to learn.
  • Experience in health and safety policies and procedures with imaging equipment.
  • Experience working in a multi‑disciplinary team.
