Part-time Personal Assistant
I am an 88 year old man living in the Pontypridd area with my wife and with close support from my family who are with us every day. I have been a hard worker all my life where I have been self-employed and run businesses locally. I used to enjoy playing snooker, gardening and attending church but cannot do these activities anymore. I have a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease and struggle with arthritis. I can complete simple tasks myself but can become confused/disorientated especially in the evenings. The Alzheimer’s can make me agitated/anxious and has caused me to retreat into myself, I can also be abrupt.
I am looking for a PA to support me to access the community where possible and to supervise and assist me at home. I will also require some support with my hygiene.
3.5 hours per week. These hours are to be worked flexibly.
£14.20 per hour
Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority). The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK
