Motor Mechanic / Vehicle Technician – Gatwick Airport

Salary: £46,500- £51,547 DOE

Location: Gatwick, West Sussex

Are you an experienced Vehicle Mechanic looking for an exciting new challenge?

We’re expanding our engineering teams at Gatwick Airport and are looking for Level 3 qualified Motor Mechanics / Vehicle Technicians to maintain and repair a diverse fleet of specialist ground service equipment (GSE). Full specialist training is provided, making this a rare opportunity to develop unique skills within the aviation sector.

Motor Mechanic / Vehicle Technician - The Role

You’ll be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of airside vehicles, including:

• Aircraft tugs and towing tractors
• Baggage loaders and belt conveyors
• Passenger steps and specialist airport equipment

Shift Pattern

4 on / 4 off, 12‑hour shifts, enhanced overtime paid at time and a half

Motor Mechanic / Vehicle Technician - About You

• Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (essential)
• Previous experience with GSE, HGVs, or plant machinery (desirable)
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
• Able to provide a 5‑year checkable work history (airside requirement)
• Able to pass a basic criminal record check
