Job summary

RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division, delivering planned, on-site servicing and repairs across the Northampton cluster and surrounding areas. You’ll work from a pre-booked schedule with the tools, van and diagnostics provided to ensure high-quality, efficient workmanship.

You’ll perform routine servicing, diagnostics, in-depth repairs and safety checks, while advising members on best practices.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 2+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
