Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You will work on a pre-booked schedule, performing servicing, diagnostics and in-depth repairs on customers’ vehicles at driveways or workplaces, with a fully equipped RAC van and support.

You’ll join a structured, non-emergency environment focused on quality and safety. You’ll operate in the Bournville cluster area, following a clear daily schedule, with a 40-hour week and occasional Saturdays.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• Perform in-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
• Work on pre-booked jobs with a clear digital schedule

Education

NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance

5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic

Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
