Job summary

RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. The role focuses on planned, scheduled maintenance and repairs delivered directly to members at driveways and car parks, rather than emergency callouts.

You will work from a pre-booked digital schedule, performing servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and safety checks with a full RAC van and tools provided. The position offers a 40-hour week with core hours and Saturdays on a 1 in 4 rota, plus overtime and bonus opportunities to

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) is required or an equivalent qualification.
• 2+ years’ experience in vehicle maintenance/repair is required; 5+ years is an alternative for experienced techs.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points is required.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing of customer vehicles.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs typically done in a workshop setting.
• Provide member advice and recommendations after inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
