Job summary

RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician in the SMR division. You’ll work on a pre-booked schedule of routine servicing, diagnostics with mobile equipment and in-depth repairs, delivering high‑quality service to members in the Northampton cluster.

This role offers a 40-hour week with core hours 8:30am–5:00pm and occasional Saturdays. You’ll have a fully equipped RAC van, driving licence requirements, and opportunities to grow into EV diagnostics and advanced skills.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 2+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
