Job summary

RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR Division. You will work on a clearly planned schedule with pre-booked jobs, away from emergency callouts, focusing on diagnostics, routine servicing and in‑depth repairs to keep members moving.

Based in the Newbury cluster area, you’ll cover nearby towns with a 40-hour week and core hours, enjoying a structured workflow, tools provided, and support to perform high-quality work on driveway or workplace sites.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
