Job summary

RAC is recruiting for a Mobile Vehicle Technician in its SMR Division, delivering planned, structured repairs directly to members’ driveways and workplaces. You’ll work from a pre-booked schedule, with no emergency callouts, focusing on quality work with the right tools and support.

You’ll join the Newbury cluster covering areas like Newbury, Thatcham, Andover, Hungerford, Lambourn, with a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, uniform and advanced diagnostics from day one.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.

Education

NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)

Full UK driving licence
