Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division, covering Newbury cluster area. You’ll work on pre-booked, scheduled jobs with no emergency callouts, using mobile equipment to diagnose and repair on-site at members’ driveways or workplaces.

Benefits include a base salary of £40,170 with potential to earn up to £52,000 via bonuses and overtime, a 40-hour week and 1 in 4 Saturdays. Fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, uniform and tools are provided.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
