Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for the SMR division in the Newbury cluster, covering nearby towns such as Andover. You’ll perform planned, pre-booked servicing and diagnostics with mobile equipment, avoiding emergency callouts and focusing on quality repairs at members’ driveways or car parks.

Expect 40 hours per week with core hours 8:30–17:00 and occasional Saturdays. Competitive base salary (£40,170) with potential earnings up to £52,000 through bonuses and overtime, plus

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• and A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
