Job summary

RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician in the SMR division for the Newbury cluster. You'll handle pre-booked jobs, performing servicing, diagnostics, and repairs with the support of advanced mobile tools.

Expect a 40-hour week (Mon–Sat), a base salary of £40,170 with on‑target earnings up to £52,000, and overtime opportunities. You’ll have a fully equipped RAC van, uniform, and ongoing training to grow your skills.

Qualifications

• Must have a full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• 2+ years’ experience in light vehicle maintenance or 5+ years as a technician.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• Perform in-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Complete vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
