Job summary

You will join the RAC as a Mobile Vehicle Technician in the SMR division, delivering planned, pre-booked repair and servicing directly to members. You’ll operate without emergency callouts, using pre-scheduled jobs with the tools, time, and support to complete high-quality work.

Based in the Newbury cluster, you’ll cover nearby areas on a defined route, working in members’ driveways or car parks, with a fully equipped RAC van and advanced diagnostics from day one.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving license with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
