Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division in the Newbury area. You’ll work on a pre-booked schedule, performing routine servicing, diagnostics with mobile equipment, and in-depth repairs with RAC standards.

The role offers a 40-hour week, Mon–Sat, with a base of £40,170 and potential to £52,000, plus guaranteed overtime, pension, life cover, and member discounts.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• Or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing of vehicles.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.

Skills

NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maint.

Full UK driving licence

2+ years' automotive experience

5+ years' experience as Technician
