Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You will work on pre-booked jobs with a fully equipped RAC van, delivering high‑quality servicing, diagnostics and repairs away from a traditional workshop.

You’ll follow RAC standards, provide clear member guidance, and perform safety checks. The role operates 40 hours per week with a guaranteed overtime option, and some Saturday work for flexible earnings potential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician with a full UK driving licence, preferably with driving record under six points.
• A strong underpinning in vehicle diagnostics, servicing and repair skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and inspections.
• Perform diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• Undertake in‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspections.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
