Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division in Reading and surrounding areas. You will service and repair vehicles on pre-booked appointments, using advanced mobile diagnostics, with a focus on quality and safety, away from emergency roadside calls.

You will work a 40-hour week with core hours and some Saturdays, supported by a full RAC van, tools, and a structured schedule to complete planned work.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic and a full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics on customers' vehicles.
• Perform in-depth repairs you would normally complete in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
