Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. This role focuses on planned, pre-booked maintenance and diagnostic work, delivered directly to members’ driveways or car parks.

You’ll work a 40-hour week, with core hours 8:30 to 17:00 and one in four Saturdays, using a fully equipped RAC van, advanced diagnostics and tools to perform routine servicing and in‑depth repairs. Skills and qualifications include NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
