Job summary

RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. The role focuses on planned servicing, diagnostics and in‑depth repairs delivered to members at their driveway or workplace car park.

You’ll work a 40-hour week with a clear schedule and no emergency callouts. You’ll start with a fully equipped RAC van and tools, plus overtime, bonus opportunities and a benefits package including pension and life cover.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards

Education
