Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You will perform planned, pre-booked mobile repairs and servicing with a fully equipped RAC van, diagnostics and tools, working from a structured schedule and avoiding roadside callouts.

You’ll deliver high-quality workmanship, advise members, and follow RAC standards for safety checks while developing your diagnostic and repair skills across routine servicing and deeper repairs.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
