Job summary

RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You will perform planned servicing and diagnostics on customer vehicles, with a structured, non-emergency workload and a fully equipped RAC van.

Work is scheduled and location is predominantly in your local area, with travel to driveways and car parks. The role emphasizes independent problem solving, high-quality repairs, and customer support, with a 40-hour week and occasional Saturdays.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
