Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for the SMR Division. You’ll operate on a structured schedule delivering planned maintenance and repairs at members’ driveways or workplaces, with a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card and diagnostics provided.

You’ll perform diagnostics, routine servicing, and in-depth repairs, offering clear advice and ensuring vehicle safety per RAC standards. This is a 40-hour week with some Saturdays.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs typically done in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
