Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You will work on a pre-booked schedule, carrying out routine servicing, diagnostics, and in‑depth repairs at the member’s location or workplace.

You’ll provide clear advice and complete safety checks, delivering quality work with the support of a fully equipped RAC van and diagnostic tools. Expect a 40‑hour week with Monday to Saturday availability, and a structured, non-emergency workflow designed for independence,

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
