Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division to deliver planned servicing and repairs directly to members. The role is field-based with a fully equipped RAC van and diagnostic tools, supporting you from driveway to workplace car park.

Expect a 40-hour week with core hours 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and 1 in 4 Saturdays. This is a stable, non-emergency role offering overtime options, ongoing training, and a clear progression path within a trusted national organisation.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance with 2+ years’ experience or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing.
• Perform diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• Complete in-depth repairs you’d normally do in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations after inspection.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks to RAC standards.
