Job summary

RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You’ll handle pre-booked servicing, diagnostics with mobile equipment, and in-depth repairs in members’ driveways or car parks. Expect a structured schedule and no emergency callouts, with a fully equipped RAC van and diagnostics tools provided.

You’ll work a 40-hour week across core hours, with 1 in 4 Saturdays. The role offers a base salary around £40k with on-target earnings up to £52k, plus overtime and bonus opportunities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics on pre-booked jobs
• Perform in-depth repairs designed for on-site completion
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection
• Maintain vehicle safety checks aligned with RAC standards
